How do air conditioners produce so much water?

I have one of those big air conditioners single-room because my system just doesn 'of air conditioners, the t cut it and it' s is connected to the outside by a hose, so I have to empty the water when it gets in full. How can produce about 5 pounds of water in just a few hours? Thanks for your answers!
